President, Board Chair and long-time festival patron Denise Sheedy extends a warm invitation to everyone to come and celebrate 24 years of the best original folk/roots music in York Region, August 23, 24, 25, 2013. Eaglewood Folk Festival is an intimate three day festival just one hour northeast of Toronto, in the friendly, lake-side town of Pefferlaw (Georgina).
Eaglewood is a festival experience you will long remember… a break from the hustle-bustle, up close and personal with the performers in a cozy woodland setting…featuring an eclectic mix of singer-songwriter, blues, country, world, blue grass, indie, folk/roots music on five stages; over 50 musical performances, open stage, youth and songwriters showcases, jamming, children’s program, and 15 alternative workshops including drumming, yoga, meditation, storytelling and songwriting. Food vendors and artisans selling hand-crafted wares are on site to enhance the festival experience.
“Eaglewood still retains the charm and intimacy of that first festival back in 1990”, states Sheedy, “when guitar, mandolin and banjo music strummed the sweet ambiance of the 90-acre woodland site that has been the home of the Eaglewood Folk Festival for 24 years”. The 2013 program will feature a mix of established artists, some of them Juno Award winners, as well as introduce up-and-coming performers. Attendees may camp on-site for the three-day weekend and wander the trails to join campfires and all night song circles. Wheelchair accessible pathways and outhouses are available throughout the property.
Festival supporters, friends, sponsors, vendors and volunteers welcome!
